Cashmir was formed in Kerava, Finland in the 1990s. In 1997 the band released an album on Atominus Records, and judging from the catalog number (ATOCD 001) it would appear to be the first album ever released on that label. Several singles were subsequently released, including a cover of "The Chauffeur" from Duran Duran's album Rio. A second album was recorded but was never released because the label went bankrupt. In 2000 a 3-song single was released in Germany under the name Trombi. This single said that the songs were from the forthcoming album Greetings from Sherwood. Presumably this is the second, unreleased Cashmir album, but since the band name was changed for the German market, they may have planned to change the album title as well. The last thing the band ever did was a video for the song "Josie" in 2004, directed by Stobe Harju. This song was never released until 2009, when it appeared on the MelodicRock.com compilation Writing on the Wall.
